Mendota was awarded an ITEP grant that will provide funding for the construction of a walk/bike path from the train depot located downtown Mendota to Strouss Park, to the Mendota Lake, and to Lake Kakusha. This is important for greater access for families with limited transportation living on the Southeast side and downtown as well as provide other opportunities for healthy, outdoor activity, and tourism.
